Adria Karlsson

Adria Karlsson grew up in Rhode Island as the child of immigrants from opposite sides of the globe. Raised on a steady diet of stories from the USA, New Zealand, and Sweden, they were drawn to books of any background that offered off-beat characters they could connect to. The fairy tales of their youth weave themselves through their work and they enjoy drawing monsters, animals, and children that inhabit worlds both imaginary and real. Drawn to work that reflects their queer identity, they create in linocut, ink, cut paper, and watercolor.
