Askel Aden

Askel is a cartoonist based in Copenhagen. He graduated from The Animation Workshop in 2017 with a BA in Graphic Storytelling and has since worked as a background artist on cartoons, in the Danish comic scene, and on various ongoing webcomics. His debut graphic novel LOVE, MISHA is forthcoming from First Second.

Askel's stories tend to revolve around LGBTQ people, though queerness is not always the focus of the plot; he also draws inspiration from the mystical and natural world. He creates stories that feel alive with rich worldbuilding and atmosphere, and though there can be melancholy to his worlds, his stories are ultimately hopeful.
