Charlotte is a picture book illustrator and author who lives and works in Montreal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from Concordia University, where she specialized in drawing. Her 2023 book Le premier arbre de Noël by Ovila Fontaine was the winner of the prestigious Governor General's Literary Award for Young People’s Literature in the Illustrated Books category; the English language version, The First Christmas Tree, was published by Orca in 2025. Her first picture book as both author and illustrator, Muriel and the Mystery, is forthcoming in English from Tundra; the French language edition was a finalist for a Governor General's Literary Award.
Charlotte’s work is characterized by gentle colors, emotive lines and shapes, playful patterns, and lush textures. She works in all kinds of traditional media, including colored pencils, gouache, and ink, and she loves children’s stories that are fresh, thoughtful, and a little weird.
