Colleen Kong-Savage has a passion for dance, a phobia of driving, and superior gingerbread cookie-baking skills. As a child, she hopscotched from Hawaii to the Philippines to Zambia, Taiwan, Japan, and Malaysia, then settled in New York City as an adult. She is an illustrator and a teaching mural artist. Her work garnered the Ezra Jack Keats/SCBWI Showcase Prize for promising BIPOC illustrator. In March 2024 Kong-Savage makes her author/illustrator debut with Piano Wants to Play, published by Page Street Kids.
